NEW ORLEANS — The Louisiana Supreme Court has suspended Orleans Parish Civil District Judge Jennifer Medley Friday, for 30 days without pay for the bench.

The high court also ordered Medley to reimburse the Judiciary Commission of Louisiana $2,747.41, representing half of the commission's costs, records show.

The decision follows an investigation into a campaign ad targeting her opponent at the time, Civil Court Chief Judge Christopher Bruno. who failed to pay child support for 13 years.

The 30-second ad was set to air during Monday Night Football when the Saints played the Raiders in 2020, but was blocked after Bruno's campaign filed the legal action.
