POTSDAM, N.Y. — Not a single boo rang through Cheel Arena when Ellis Rickwood's name was announced during pregame introductions.
In fact, the fans even gave a smattering of applause for the senior forward, who played three seasons at Clarkson before transferring to UND in the summer.
But that was the end of the pleasantries.
Clarkson scored two goals in first period, two more in the second and built a three-goal lead en route to a 5-2 win over UND.
Owen Van Steensel and Tristan Sarsland scored even-strength goals, Luka Sukovic and Tate Taylor scored on the power play, and Erik Bargholtz iced it with an empty-netter.
Forward Ryan Botterill also had three assists for the Golden Knights, who beat UND for the first time in program history. They were previously 0-7.
