HARTFORD, Conn. — It’s been months since the Blue Hills Civic Association, or BHCA, a nonprofit in the North End of Hartford , closed its doors.
Former employees say they are still doing all they can to help the community.
The BHCA had been a staple in the North End for 60 years, especially with its summer youth employment program.
Victoria Fennell, former BHCA chief operating officer, said that was one of their more well-known programs.
"The one we were known for, and so the agency successfully managed it for 25 years. This year was the first year we were not able to do that for obvious reasons,” Fennell said.
Ralph Knighton, former BHCA economic development director, said he and many others often made great use of the organization's variety of programs as well.
