BRAWLEY — The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 45-year-old Brawley man in connection with an agricultural theft that investigators say involved more than $25,000 worth of stolen fertilizer and other farm materials.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, after reports of fertilizer stolen from Abatti Farms. Investigators identified the suspect as Louis Enrique Vega Castaneda of Brawley.
