IMPERIAL COUNTY— As voters across Imperial Valley weigh in on Proposition 50, which would temporarily redraw legislative districts in California, local educators are speaking about how the measure could affect public schools and students with special needs.

Yulil Alonso-Garza, a member of the California Teachers Association (CTA) and the National Education Association (NEA), said she is speaking as an individual and not on behalf of her unions and organizations.
