Two members of Australia’s women’s World Cup cricket squad have allegedly been stalked and “touched inappropriately” in India, with authorities saying they have arrested a suspect.
Cricket Australia released a statement late yesterday detailing the incident that happened ahead of Australia’s final pool match against South Africa in Indore.
“CA can confirm two members of the Australian women’s team were approached and allegedly touched inappropriately by a motorcyclist while walking to a cafe in Indore,” a spokesman said.
“The matter was reported by team security to police, who are handling the matter.”
The incident is alleged to have happened about 11am on Thursday, local time, the day after Australia’s six-wicket win over England, with the suspect riding away.
