PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- A Peoria man went to the hospital after two ShotSpotter alerts were activated minutes apart.

Just after 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, the first alert went off, detecting 14 shots fired in the 2600 block of West Krause Avenue, Peoria Police Department spokesperson Semone Roth said.

Two minutes later, a second alert went off in the 2200 block of West Malone Street and four shots were detected. The two addresses are around a mile apart.

Roth said a 19-year-old man showed up at the hospital with a graze wound to his buttocks. His injuries are non-life-threatening.

She confirmed that this was related to the shots fired on West Malone Street. However, it is currently unknown if the two alerts are connected.

There is no suspect information available at this time. Police
