WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Halloween season is officially here, and the Trail of Terror is frightening thrill seekers from all over Connecticut.

Inside the woods of Wallingford, the Trail of Terror has been bringing the state’s scariest characters out for 34 years.

Visitors encounter insane asylums, chain saws, and all the devil’s friends as they navigate the haunted attraction.

Behind the masks and makeup are local volunteers like Elle Gambardella, who has been participating for over 20 years.

“The groups that come here on a regular basis and the new people, they’re just excited to be here,” Gambardella said.

The spook serves a good cause as Trail of Terror has raised over $2 million for charity during its run.
