EAST LANSING – Michigan’s football team extended its win streak over Michigan State to four games Saturday night, trudging its way to a 31-20 victory.

The Wolverines’ offense was sloppy and inconsistent, but their defense suffocated the Spartans for three quarters, which was enough to maintain control of the Paul Bunyan Trophy. Michigan improves to 6-2 and 4-1 in the Big Ten, while MSU’s losing streak stretches to five games after its 3-0 start.
