A MAN behind the wheel of a stolen car who struck and seriously injured a scooter rider and then took off in Tamworth has been jailed.
Malaki Sullivan will spend at least two-and-a-half years in a prison cell for the dangerous joyride and hit-and-run across Tamworth from Gunnedah on the night of March 16, 2024.
Sullivan appeared in Sydney's Downing Centre District Court for sentence where Judge Jennie Girdham found special circumstances in the case and gave Sullivan a 25 per cent discount for his early guilty pleas.
She handed him a four-year sentence, with a minimum of two years and seven months in custody for the two charges, while six other offences were taken into account.
