His latest movie is called “Self-Help” but the appropriate job title for its auteur Erik Bloomquist would be “Self-Starter.”
Bloomquist produced, directed, co- wrote and co-edited (with his brother Carson) and acts in the new horror flick, which opens fittingly on Halloween. The national release will be on hundreds of screens nationwide, including Cinemark Buckland Hills in Manchester and the AMC Plainville 20.
Bloomquist has produced and directed and acted in over dozen movies in the past 14 years. His horror films have been particularly successful, but he’s also done the romance “Weekenders” and the holiday film “Christmas at the Carousel.” He said he likes to mix it up.
