New Delhi: After five long years, direct flights between India and China resumed. The first flight in four years will fly from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata at 10 pm tonight. IndiGo will operate the first flight from Kolkata to Guangzhou.
Following the COVID-19 pandemic and rising border tensions in eastern Ladakh, resulting in the suspension of all air services between both countries, a positive move now comes from both sides.
On October 2, India announced the resumption of direct flights to China from October 26. The first phase route will be between Kolkata to Guangzhou, and the second phase flight will run from Shanghai to New Delhi on November 9.
