LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- It was a picture-perfect morning in Las Vegas as runners, young and old, took on the Las Vegas Marathon, half marathon, and the “702” race – a 7.02-mile run paying tribute to the city’s area code.

Thousands laced up their shoes for the 2nd annual event. This year’s race took place in the northwest valley and featured runners from all 50 states.

“I just love visiting other cities like Las Vegas; I can’t go wrong with that. We came as a group, and I found myself having a great time here,” Mando Lopez said.

“Las Vegas lowkey has a place in my heart. I did a relay race from LA to Vegas a year ago,” Andrew Kim said.
