DRAPER — Several businesses in Draper were shut down Saturday due to a sewer line issue, but health officials say repairs are underway and the businesses should be able to reopen on Sunday.
About 9 p.m. Friday, officials from the Salt Lake County Health Department responded to a sewage backup at 12191 S. State Street. The sewage backup was entering a nearby storm drain, health department spokesman Nicholas Rupp said.
Crews from the Jordan Basin Improvement District worked overnight to fix the problem, but were unable to clear the line by Saturday morning.
“Due to the amount of gravel and debris backing up in the sewer line, Jordan Basin believes the line is damaged (broken or collapsed), so repair could take several hours to days,” a statement from the health department said.
