TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Jewish Philanthropies of Southern Arizona say they’ve received 115 reports of antisemitism incidents. Many of those have come from the classroom. Now, they’re teaming up with educators to fix the problem statewide.

Last year, antisemitic incidents in the United States hit record highs. Arizona’s Jewish community is responding by coming together and tackling the problem head on.

The Southwest Institute brought together educators, administrators, and community members for the first comprehensive training for identifying antisemitism in schools from kindergarten to college.

“If you had asked me just over two years ago if we would be having this event tonight, the answer would be no,” JPSA President and CEO Hava Leipzig Holzhauer said.
