There were three big IHSA cross country races for area teams in three different classes.

Class 1A Rushville Regional

The Beardstown Tigers raced to second place in the girl’s Rushville Regional on Saturday scoring 83 points behind Lewistown’s winning score of 33. Diana Huerta finished fifth in 20:41.1 to lead the way followed by Rosalba Quintana who finished 21st in 22:36.5.

Kelsey Freesmeyer finished sixth in 20:53.9 to lead Pittsfield. The Saukees qualified by taking fifth place, followed by Illini West in sixth. Tinley Covert led the Chargers with a 20th place finish in 22:21.7. All three teams will compete next Saturday at the Elwood Sectional for a chance to move on to the IHSA State Meet.

Kaylyn Forbis was the top individual as she finished second in 20:02.8 for Pleasant Hill. Do
