Co-op has allegedly quietly told staff to increase the promotion of vapes in a bid to bring customers back in after the devastating cyber attack it faced.
The chain is said to be making vapes more prominent in branches across the UK through methods such as using new displays and more advertising, an internal document seen by the Guardian revealed.
According to the publication, the store is also stocking a wider range of vapes and nicotine pouches in a plan to increase sales one again after the cyber incident it faced in April which left shelves down and sales low.
The document is said to be called Powering Up: Focus Sprint: Cigs, Tobacco and Vape, with it reading: “Sales haven’t recovered compared to pre-cyber.”
