A Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been charged in a Center Point crash earlier this month that injured three people, including a young woman and her teen brother.
Deputy Shamonte D. Lanfair, 34, was booked into the Jefferson County Jail Friday on two charges of first-degree assault. She was released after posting $30,000 bond.
Jefferson County sheriff’s officials have not released a statement regarding her arrest.
It was not immediately clear why her information has not been posted on the jail’s public website.
Authorities have not said why Lanfair was charged.
The investigation was led by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
