A Birmingham man, who police say was considered "armed and dangerous" and had warrants out for his arrest, was arrested early Sunday morning during a traffic stop in Priceville.

About 4 a.m., a Priceville Police officer observed a Dodge pickup truck engaging in several traffic infractions in the 3300 block of Highway 67.

According to Priceville Police, as the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle proceeded northbound on Interstate 65 and did not come to a complete stop until just beyond the 335 mile marker.

During the traffic stop, a passenger identified as 46-year-old Andre Lewis Woody was found to have active arrest warrants that were extraditable nationwide, pertaining to charges related to narcotics and firearms.
