The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday authorities are searching for an armed suspect following a deputy-involved shooting.

Deputies say Gary Jody Childers was last seen running through the woods near Barry Street and Jones Road in Powell after they tried to arrest him on an outstanding warrant.

The sheriff's office says that's when he started shooting at them as he ran away. Deputies say no one got hit by those bullets.

Childers was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

If you see Childers, deputies say do not approach him, just call 911.
