Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule is a popular pick to replace James Franklin at Penn State. However, some are questioning if he would be an upgrade over the coach who had the Nittany Lions in the College Football Playoff semifinals last year.

Earlier this month on Bruce & The Bear , Bruce Feldman and Chris “The Bear” Fallica, both of FOX Sports, debated if Penn State hiring Matt Rhule would be the right move.

“Look, I love Matt Rhule and the job he did at Temple, but the reason you’re getting rid of James Franklin is because he’s 4-21 against top 10 teams,” Fallica said. “And now you’ve got Matt Rhule, who at Nebraska can’t even beat a ranked team.

“As a Penn State fan, how would you feel about that? And the observation that really [Penn State is] making kind of a lateral move.”
