Two critically endangered tortoises were stolen from the Indianapolis Zoo and police are now asking for help finding them.
Indiana State Police say an Egyptian tortoise and a Northern Spider tortoise were stolen from the Indianapolis Zoo. According to investigators, the theft occurred sometime between 10 a.m. on Oct. 11 and 10 a.m. on Oct. 12.
Both species are currently listed as critically endangered species, ISP said. Both tortoises are microchipped, and the Egyptian tortoise is said to have a prominent scar on its underside.
