ATLANTA — MARTA on Monday unveiled its new "Better Breeze" tap payment system , saying it will streamline things for riders and also provide the transit agency with more accurate ridership data.
The system will feature new entry gates with the ability to take payments directly from bank cards, mobile wallets or the MARTA app, as well as new physical Better Breeze cards.
MARTA says it will also deploy new vending machines systemwide and faregates that are "sleek, modern and harder to tamper with or damage creating a safer, more secure transit system."
Bus and mobility vehicles will also feature new validators capable of taking various forms of payment, according to MARTA.
