NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Halloween is finally here, but poor weather conditions this week may leave families wondering if trick-or-treating will be possible.
A frontal system is expected to hit New York City by Thursday, bringing heavy rainfall and gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service.
New York City officials are monitoring the possibility that the heavy rainfall will last into Friday.
The heavy rain is expected to taper off by late Friday morning; however, wind gusts are expected to persist throughout the day, according to the NWS.
The weather forecasts suggest that conditions will be good for trick-or-treating. The high on Friday will hover close to 60 degrees. Temperatures will fall below 50 degrees at night.
