About 400 Londoners are without power after a vehicle struck a hydro pole in the Old East Village on Monday afternoon, marking the second crash to cause a power outage in the city today.
Emergency crews responded to Dundas and Eleanor streets around 2:37 p.m. after a vehicle hit a hydro pole, blocking the road, fire officials said on social media.
Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries, police said in an update around 3:20 p.m.
The road will remain closed for “an extended period of time” while London Hydro crews work to repair the pole and restore power, police said.
Roughly 400 customers are affected, London Hydro said, adding that restoration estimates will be provided once crews assess the damage.
