BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - With Veterans Day coming up, the city of Binghamton is kicking off an annual initiative to honor its hometown heroes.
Last week, the 3rd Annual Binghamton Hometown Heroes Town Hall was held to announce the installation of the banners program.
29 new banners will go up this year, representing each veteran being honored, and will line Front Street from Bevier down to Prospect Street.
Binghamton Hometown Heroes Banner Committee member Jason Davis delivered a PowerPoint at the Town Hall to give a sneak peek of the banners to local veterans and their families. He says honoring veterans in the community is very important.
