NEW YORK (PIX11) — Amazon is planning to cut thousands of corporate jobs starting on Tuesday, according to published reports.

As many as 30,000 corporate workers across a variety of the tech giant's departments, including human resources, advertising and cloud computing, could lose their jobs, according to Reuters.

Reuters cited multiple anonymous sources familiar with the situation, and sources told the Wall Street Journal that the number of cuts has not been finalized, but did say 30,000 is on the table.

This comes just one week after the Amazon Web Services outage that caused a large number of apps and other online services to temporarily shut down.

In the second quarter of 2025, Amazon's net sales increased by 13% over 2024, raking in $167.7 billion.
