ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -The parents of nearly two dozen Cardinal Ritter football players are asking for an investigation into the use of pepper spray against the student-athletes at the end of a recent game against Washington Massillon High School in Ohio.
Prominent civil rights attorney Ben Crump, along with Ohio-based co-counsel Sean Walton, Michael Wright, Robert Gresham, and Anthony Pierson, have been retained to represent 23 Cardinal Ritter College Prep football players and their families.
During a Monday news conference, attorneys demanded an investigation into the actions of the police officers and the use of force.
“This is police violence against our children and community,” said Ohio-based attorney Anthony Pierson. “This is a parent’s worse nightmare.”
