A dog in Mississippi that had been stuck in an old well has been rescued.
A homeowner in Harrison County, Mississippi, was working on flooring in a kitchen during a remodeling job when the family's dog, Rascal, made his way under the house and fell into the well. According to Harrison County Fire and Rescue, Rascal fell into the well on Thursday and was rescued on Saturday, Oct. 26.
The well was about 18 inches in diameter and 20 feet deep with a small void at the bottom.
"We were granted permission to break up the floor above the well opening," HCFR said in a Facebook post. "While firefighters were working on the floor, the well was covered with a sheet of plywood to prevent falling debris from injuring Rascal."
