Whitehouse, Jamaica (NEWS10) - Four Capital Region natives are hunkering down inside a resort in Jamaica as they prepare for Hurricane Melissa to make landfall.

Marc Tarantelli and his wife live in Delmar, they arrived in Whitehouse, Jamaica on Thursday along with two other friends from Clifton Park. They are staying at a resort on the south western coast of the island.

Tarantelli spoke with News10's Lydia Kulbida Monday night about the preparations they are taking before the worst of the storm arrives.

"We're prepared for the worse but we're hopeful for the best outcomes for everyone around us right now."

Tarantelli says he is on the fourth floor of the hotel and his friends are on the third floor. They're in the building that is furthest away from the water but still has a water view
