Police have launched an investigation into an "unexplained" death after a man was found dead on a boat in a major city centre.

Emergency services rushed to the Lady Julian Bridge in Norwich, Norfolk, just after 1.30pm on Sunday after the tragic discovery of the body, belonging to a man in his 60s. Norfolk Police said the man was pronounced dead on the scene following a massive multi-agency response, with a probe now launched into the unexplained death.

A spokesperson for the service said in the statement, which was issued on Monday, that coastguard, Norfolk Fire and Rescue and ambulances were called to the scene.

They said: "Police were called yesterday afternoon (26 October) following reports the body of a man had been discovered on a boat in Norwich.

"The incident happened at 1.38pm
