Police are investigating after a woman was allegedly assaulted following a sickening racist attack on staff in an Edinburgh fast food restaurant.

The woman was with a friend at Pepe's Piri Piri on Lothian Road when the incident occurred on Friday, October 24.

At around 9.30pm, a man entered the premises and reportedly started being racially abusive towards staff when he was told they didn't serve what he had asked for.

Shocking footage shared with Edinburgh Live captures the moment the man reportedly goes berserk after demanding a cheeseburger in the chicken restaurant.

When the woman confronted him, he is said to have threatened her, before pouring her drink over her head and punching her in the face.
