Union Minister of State for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Tourism Suresh Gopi visited South Garo Hills on Tuesday to review the implementation of government schemes and assess the functioning of various departments.

A review meeting was held at the New Circuit House, Baghmara, attended by Deputy Commissioner Sumit Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police Shailendra Bamaniya and senior officials from different departments.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner briefed the Minister on ongoing and completed projects and highlighted connectivity and infrastructural challenges faced by the remote district.
