[DES MOINES, Iowa] — Voters in Iowa will soon decide on new bond referendums for cities and school districts, with Election Day just one week away.
A total of 55 bond proposals will be on the ballot on November 4. Eighteen of these proposals have appeared in previous elections. Altogether, these bonds could cost Iowans $1.6 billion.
Chris Hagenow, president of Iowans for Tax Relief, emphasized the importance of understanding the proposals before voting.
"It’s separating the wants versus needs. If something needs to happen, voters should be aware of it and vote for it," Hagenow said.
Twelve school districts in eastern Iowa are seeking improvements through bond proposals. Additionally, four cities in eastern Iowa are requesting upgrades in their communities.
