LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Ronald Exantus is returning to Kentucky after his arrest in Florida, which happened shortly after he was controversially granted supervised release from a Kentucky prison.
Exantus was acquitted due to insanity in the stabbing death of six-year-old Logan Tipton in 2015. However, he was found guilty of attacking members of the Tipton family that evening and received a 20-year prison sentence.
He was released in early October, after serving less than ten years, due to a combination of time served, good behavior, and a mandatory early release program for non-violent offenders.
Exantus was arrested in Marion County, Florida, because of his failure to register as a convicted felon; he was extradited back to Kentucky on Tuesday.
