SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WILX) - Michigan State’s men’s basketball team visited the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on Monday ahead of the team’s exhibition at UConn in nearby Hartford, Connecticut, on Tuesday night.
Spartans’ head coach Tom Izzo was enshrined in the Hall of Fame back in 2016, and the team got a chance to take in some basketball history before Tuesday’s game.
The matchup in Hartford is the first of a home-and-home series that will see the Huskies travel to the Breslin Center for a preseason exhibition next season.
While the game won’t count towards either team’s record, it’s a chance for both teams to match up with a high-level opponent before the regular season. UConn is ranked No. 4 in the preseason AP Top 25, with Michigan State checking in at No. 22.
