NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - As Nashville International Airport (BNA) unveiled plans for a massive expansion that could double its size, passengers expressed excitement about the growth while raising serious concerns about whether the surrounding infrastructure can handle the increased traffic.

The project was announced in a video message on Monday, setting the path ahead from the current New Horizon $4.5 billion expansion plan that’s set to end in 2029.

The new Terminal II project is targeting a 2038 opening on a 300-acre site south of the current runway. But for travelers navigating the airport daily, the focus remains on the more immediate problem of getting in and out of BNA.
