RAY, N.D. (KMOT) – Last week, Your News Leader reported a federal judge ordered home confinement for a Ray, N.D., man indicted in a child pornography case.

Questions have been raised about the decision since his home is near Ray Public School.

A grand jury indicted 57-year-old Gary Donnelly for receipt of child pornography in 2022.

State charges against Donnelly were thrown out due to issues with evidence gathering.

Your News Leader spoke with the federal prosecutor assigned to the case, who said Donnelly must wear an electronic monitor that would alert his pretrial officers if he went near the school.
