OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Creighton senior guard Josh Dix has been named to the preseason watch list for the Jerry West Award, recognizing the top shooting guard in Division I men’s basketball.

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced the list Monday, with Dix among 20 players nationally under consideration for the honor.

A transfer from Iowa, the Council Bluffs native averaged 14.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists last season while shooting 50.7% from the field and 42.2% from three-point range.

Dix enters the season with 826 career points, 206 rebounds and 176 assists in 97 career games. He was also named Preseason Second Team All-BIG EAST last week in a vote of league coaches.
