Women will be able to get the morning after pill for free in pharmacies across England from today.
The NHS move has been hailed the "biggest change to sexual health services since the 1960s" and could benefit tens of thousands of women.
The oral emergency contraception pill will be available for free from almost 10,000 pharmacies across the country from Wednesday (October 29) without needing to see their GP or get an appointment at a sexual health clinic.
While the so-called 'morning after pill' is free from most GPs and sexual health clinics, it can cost up to £30 from pharmacies.
