AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (WLNS) - Dozens protested data centers outside of a meeting where rules related to these centers were discussed.
More and more data centers are being proposed across Michigan and it's not sitting well with many Michiganders. The Sierra Club held a protest at Oakland Community College on Monday, where the Michigan Public Service Commission was holding a public hearing about the future of energy in the state.
The MPSC's meeting was to hear public input about what people think the parameters surrounding 'integrated resource plans' should be. These are plans electric companies are required to submit that show how they plan to create enough electricity over the next 20 years to meet customer needs.
