WALDORF, Md. — One person was found dead in a gas station parking lot following a double shooting in Waldorf early Wednesday. The other person was flown to a hospital.
At around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday morning, Charles County sheriff's deputies responded to the Westlake Dash-In at 2007 Smallwood Drive West for a report of a shooting. Once on scene, deputies found two men had been shot, and one of them was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported to the hospital. The injured man's current condition is not known. Neither victim was an employee at the Dash-In, the sheriff's office said.
The man killed has been identified as 31-year-old Charles Arlando Hamilton.
Investigators believe the shooting was potentially targeted at a group of people who were near the gas pumps. Pol
