NHS Grampian has apologised to a patient after they were left waiting 15 months for an urgent operation .
The patient had been suffering "significant" issues with their mobility and difficulties with day-to-day living, and they were placed on a waiting list for an "urgent" hip replacement surgery.
After waiting more than a year without progress since the pre-assessment appointment, a complaint was made to the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman (SPSO).
The watchdog determined it was unreasonable to leave the operation for over 90 days, and expressed concern that it took their intervention for the surgery to take place, reports STV News .
