Tuesday (Nov. 4), the new exhibit “New Orleans Musicians in Art” opens at the Historic New Orleans Collection. The 14 works on view will be paintings from HNOC’s holdings inspired by New Orleans music and musicians, including portraits by Noel Rockmore, Bruce Brice, Herbert Singleton and J. Haynes Smith. The opening reception for the traveling exhibit “Degenerate! Hitler’s War on Modern Art” will take place at 5 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 5) at the National WWII Museum. The exhibit, which originated at the Jewish Museum Milwaukee, features more than 65 works by artists deemed “degenerate” by the Third Reich.
