PORTAGE, MI — Target denies wrongdoing, responding to a lawsuit filed by a woman who was secretly recorded undressing by another customer inside a Target fitting room.
Dannica Alling was changing in the fitting room when she was secretly recorded on Aug. 15, 2022, at Target, 6839 S. Westnedge Ave., in Portage, according to a lawsuit.
Alling sued the company, alleging Target missed the mark designing the changing rooms and the Minnesota-based retailer should fix them to protect customers.
Target disagrees.
“Target did not owe a duty to Plaintiff to prevent criminal action by a third-party,” a Sept. 30 filing by the company states.
Target denied the allegations, arguing against some of the claims made in the lawsuit.
