MARION COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- Two Marion County men have been arrested by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division as the agency's dogfighting investigation continues.

Harold Leonidas Young II, 41, was charged with five counts of animal fighting or baiting, two counts of ill treatment of animals, and one count of criminal conspiracy. Lance Denitri Mack, 48, was charged with criminal conspiracy.

Arrest warrants show that from July 2022 up until this month, Young owned several dogs for the purpose of dogfighting. Two of the dogs were also allegedly not given adequate housing to be protected from the elements, were tethered by a heavy logging chain, with one of them being "extremely emaciated."

In March 2024, Mack is accused of aiding in coordinating or carrying out the animal fighting
