Let’s think about the brain. It is, generally speaking, the part of us that regulates how everything else works.

I’ve been interested in the brain for a long time. The first time I heard about left and right brain differences I scratched my head. The “not brain surgery” comment intrigued me more.

Aging has deepened my interest. Specifically, why my “memory” is diminishing year by year, day by day, even hour by hour.

Ordinarily I’d delve into the writings of Daniel Levitin, a polymath, cognitive psychologist, neuroscientist, musician, etc. From “Successful Aging” I learned the reassuring distinction between remembering and recall.

But this time, I didn’t want science, and chose fantasy.
