A Miami graffiti artist accused of being the ringleader of a group that tagged the VITAS building along with Interstate 395 and other locations has been arrested, police said Wednesday.
Paul Mario Hoyos, 37, was arrested Tuesday on multiple charges including trespassing, burglary, and criminal mischief, Miami Police officials said.
Hoyos, who used the tag name “TESOE,” is believed to have orchestrated numerous vandalism incidents throughout Miami-Dade, police said.
The most high-profile incident was the tagging of the vacant VITAS building, a 19-story building on Southeast 2nd Street, in late 2023, police said.
The entire facade of the building was covered in graffiti, leading the city to order its owner to clean it up, before it was demolished last year.
