Halloween is right around the corner, and the Emporia State volleyball team is starting the final third of the regular season. Last weekend, they played one match against rivals Washburn and lost 3-0. That would bring the now unranked Hornets to 17-4 on the year and 8-2 in MIAA play.

The match would begin slowly for the Hornets in Topeka, as the Ichabods would never trail in the first set of the match. One issue that plagued the Hornets would be their serve and receive, as the Ichabods would have five serving aces in the first set alone and win it 25-17. The second set would see the Hornets fight back a little as they split the first six points of the set. That fight would not last long, however, as the Ichabods would go on a 7-3 run and not look back.
