Saskatchewan will be the place to be for Canadian football fans in 2027. The CFL announced Monday that Regina will host the 2027 Grey Cup, a move Weyburn-Bengough MLA Mike Weger calls a big deal for the entire province.
"I'm always happy to talk about a good news story, and you don't get many as good as this," Weger said following the announcement. "I think what it does is it really displays that Saskatchewan is the place to be and it's the place for people to come to."
Weger credited the 2016 construction of Mosaic Stadium as a decision that is now paying dividends for Saskatchewan.
"It's a world-class facility that, without it, we're not winning this bid to host the Grey Cup," he said.
The economic impact of hosting the championship game is expected to be extensive. Weger pointed to
